Nikki Bella has shared her current thinking on the possibility of a non-physical WWE TV return during her continuing ankle rehabilitation, telling USA Today Sports that she prefers to wait until she can be physical for the return to have maximum storyline impact, but has left the door open to a non-physical appearance if WWE creative needs it.
Bella has been on the shelf since suffering an ankle injury prior to WrestleMania 42, with Paige stepping in as her replacement at the event. Paige and Brie Bella formed Scream Mode and have been holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship since that pairing. Bella has been targeting a return within the next month as her rehabilitation progresses.
“I mean, I guess you’re going to have to tune in to find out, but you could, even though I kind of have this thing where I’m like, I feel like when you have an injury, like I did when it’s, right before WrestleMania and then Paige comes in and bring Paige win and they’re the tag champions. I feel like the moment of me returning has to be when I can be physical. Because it’s just, we’re almost there and I feel like it just has more impact.”
She left the door as open to non-physical appearance if creative requires it.
“But hey, again, you never know because maybe they need me to help them win. Who knows? You know, it’s wrestling. That’s the beauty of it.”
Paige and Brie Bella successfully retained the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Lash Legend and Nia Jax at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23. Bayley has separately staked her claim to the title picture by declaring on X that she and Lyra Valkyria are the best women’s tag team in wrestling.
