Paul Heyman took to Twitter shortly after UFC 226 to comment on Brock Lesnar’s return to UFC.
First of all, profound #RESPECT for @dc_mma, achieving his lifelong dream and cementing his legacy in @UFC. On a completely different note, just for the record … ahem …. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROCK LESNAR!!! #UFC226 @WWE #UniversalChampion @BrockLesnar

As noted earlier, Dana White confirmed that Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier will happen. The belief is that Lesnar will not be able to fight until late December when his USADA drug suspension expires so it seems likely that the fight with Cormier will take place on December 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
During the UFC 226 post-fight press conference, White said that Lesnar is free and clear to fight in the UFC. We don’t know what any of this means for Lesnar in WWE but he is still the Universal Champion and the idea is for Lesnar to wrestle Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. As of this weekend, that match is not set in stone.
Nowadays, since WWE is going to make so much money off TV deals, they have more room to do things that they wouldn’t have done before. Could that mean that Lesnar will be off SummerSlam or retain the title on that show? I’m sure Vince McMahon would love to have his top male Superstar as both the Universal Champion and UFC World Heavyweight Champion but Lesnar would need to win his fight with Cormier for that to happen and a lot of things need to fall into place.
We’ll see if WWE makes an announcement by next week after Extreme Rules as the hype for SummerSlam will begin.
