Plans changed for WWE Draft, date revealed for “season premiere” of Monday Night Raw

Plans have changed for the WWE Draft.

Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast host Andrew Zarian is reporting that the WWE Draft has been moved to a later date and it’s now penciled in forĀ  October.

Zarian listed October 1st and 4th or October 4th and 8th for the two night WWE Draft. The original plan was for the WWE Draft to be held on August 30 (Raw) and September 3 (SmackDown).

Zarian also said that the October 4th episode of Raw is going to be billed as the “season premiere” so it’s possible that they would want to hold off on the draft show until the following week so they could promote two big Raw shows instead of one for that month.

There is a lot of pressure from the TV networks to get ratings up for both main roster shows so expect more themed shows to be announced in the coming months.
