CM Punk On Liv Morgan: “She Was Like My MVP For The Year”

CM Punk has high praise for Liv Morgan, naming her his WWE MVP for 2025 so far. Morgan recently suffered a dislocated shoulder that will require surgery, potentially keeping her out of action for the rest of the year.

The injury came at an unfortunate time, as Morgan has made a name for herself as one of WWE’s most featured performers over the last year. During this period, she has captured the WWE Women’s World Title and the Women’s Tag Team Championships and has been involved in major programs with Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch.

Speaking during a live recording of Kevin Hart’s Cold As Balls at Fanatics Fest in New York City, CM Punk gave Morgan credit for her work this year.

“Shoutout to Liv Morgan who recently got injured, she was like my MVP for the year,” CM Punk said. “I look at people like Liv who probably started right after I left, 2014-ish, and just from the time I’ve been around her and been able to see her work, just the way she’s developed this last year and just broken out of her shell and turned into this little worker, it kinda warms my heart. I missed her the first part of the journey, but to be here, see her grow into who she’s become…it’s disappointing she got injured, but it’s part of the process, nobody gets out alive is what I like to say, when you do this, it’s just part of the job.”

Morgan’s injury, sustained in a match against Kairi Sane on Monday Night Raw, is believed to have forced WWE to change multiple summer storylines. She was expected to be involved in programs with Roxanne Perez and IYO SKY and Nikki Bella.
