Randy Orton has identified Finn Balor as a bucket list opponent he hopes to face before his in-ring career comes to an end.
Speaking with The Schmo before WrestleMania 42, Orton opened up about his desire to finally share the ring with Balor in a proper singles context after two decades in the business without it ever happening.
“Finn Balor to me, I’ve been in the ring with him, but I’ve never had a singles match, let alone a feud. I would love to be able to say that I did by the end of my career. I think Finn Balor is an amazing talent. There’s nobody smoother than him,” Orton said.
Despite crossing paths in various multi-man settings over the years, Orton and Balor have never had a one-on-one match in WWE. Orton, 46, who has revealed he has four years remaining on his current WWE contract, is clearly thinking about which experiences he still wants to check off before he is done.
Orton lost to WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the night one main event of WrestleMania 42.
