Released WWE Star Expected To Have Plenty Of Offers

WWE released several talents on Friday, including Kayden Carter, Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, and Katana Chance. The releases hit the main roster and NXT.

Fightful Select reports that “Dakota Kai already has gained the interest of outside companies and top agents in pro wrestling, as they expect her to have plenty of offers.” She is under a 90-non-compete.

Kai first made a name for herself in WWE’s NXT brand, becoming an inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Raquel Gonzalez after winning the first Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Following a brief release in April 2022, she returned at SummerSlam later that year, co-founding the Damage CTRL faction with Bayley and Iyo Sky.

As part of Damage CTRL, Kai achieved main roster success, holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice with Sky. After recovering from a significant ACL injury sustained in May 2023, Kai returned to the group. Her second WWE tenure ended when the company released her on May 2, 2025

They join several WWE stars who were let go, including Kayden Carter, Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler, and Katana Chance. Click here for more.
