Released WWE star hints at retirement

It appears that Lio Rush is planning to retire from the pro wrestling business.

Back in April, Rush was among several wrestlers and staff that were let go by WWE due to budget cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since that time, he has teased that he might not ever wrestle again. He has also said before that he wanted to focus on family and music.

Many people have praised Rush for his in-ring work. Although he does have outside interests, if he does want to wrestle going forward, he’s likely to receive offers.

Rush took to his official Instagram account where he sent out a video that has fans speculating that he could be retiring from pro wrestling. He is slated to make an announcement about “The Final Match” later this month.

In the video, he was counting down to the announcement by stating years, months, weeks, days, minutes, and seconds.

He captioned the video with, “It’s been an amazing ride. 7.20.20 I will be announcing #TheFinalMatch.#Lio #LioRush #Wrestling.”

In a separate post, he asked fans who they would like to see him wrestle in his final match. He wrote, “If you could pick ONE person for me to have a “Final Match” with, who would it be?”
