Riley Osborne was confirmed as one of the talents released by WWE during the roster cuts made on Friday. He departed from the NXT brand while he was sidelined recovering from his surgery in March.
Osborne had been working matches on NXT programming earlier in the year. His last match occurred at an NXT live event on February 22nd, and his final televised appearances were taped that same month. Osborne revealed on social media previously that he underwent surgery on his ankle/foot on March 7th.
In a social media post following his release, Osborne alluded to the timing of his departure while still recovering by captioning a photo: “Can’t wait to get medically cleared at work….oh.”
Fans were introduced to Osborne under the name Josh Morrell between 2018 and 2022. He joined the main NXT roster in 2023 as Riley Osborne and was briefly a member of the popular Chase U faction before the group disbanded in November 2024.
