Rhea Ripley Reveals She Is Dealing With An Eating Disorder Amid Ongoing Body Criticism

Rhea Ripley has revealed that she is dealing with an eating disorder, putting an end to weeks of online speculation about her noticeable weight loss heading into WrestleMania 42.

The revelation came in the comments section of an Instagram post by fitness influencer and coach M.K. Angeletti (@_revivalfitness), who had posted a video discussing Ripley’s physique change. Angeletti pushed back on claims that Ripley’s weight loss was caused by back pain related to her muscle mass, pointing out that muscle mass does not cause back pain and that Ripley had largely retained her muscle while losing body fat.

Ripley responded directly in the comments with a brief but revealing statement.

“Just a little eating disorder that I’m actively trying to handle,” Ripley wrote.

Her comment drew widespread support from fans, with over 1,300 responses. One fan wrote, “You don’t need to explain or justify anything to anyone, no matter what you say it will always be construed or contorted on the internet.” Another said, “You look amazing no matter what, always prioritize your health above all else.”

Ripley had previously shut down the back pain narrative. After reports circulated that she had discussed the topic in an interview, Ripley denied it entirely on social media.

“That ‘interview’ never happened. Just another made up thing about me,” Ripley wrote.

This is not the first time Ripley has addressed body-related criticism from fans. On March 21, she posted a message on X that went viral, garnering over two million views.

“Too manly. Too bulky. Too muscly. Too much sex appeal. Too lean/skinny. It’s comical really. 1. You know nothing about me and what’s going on in my life or my mental. 2. Post a photo of yourself. You won’t.”

Ripley challenges Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship on Night Two of WrestleMania 42 this Sunday, April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Ripley earned the title shot by winning the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber match.
