Ric Flair is scheduled to see Dr. Joseph Maroon in Pittsburgh for his full cardiovascular physical before he’s brought back as a regular character. Even though Flair prefers being a heel, they believe that he should be back as a babyface. WWE wants extensive testing done on guys of a certain age group because of what happened with Jerry Lawler and Ultimate Warrior so they can find out if there are any health problems before they put them on TV.
There have been several ideas pitched for Flair. One idea would be to have him paired with The Miz again with the idea being that Flair could help elevate Miz as a top babyface heel. There’s a lot of skepticism on that since a lot of people feel that The Miz is damaged goods. Flair, however, wants to manage Dolph Ziggler because he sees potential in Ziggler as a top star. They have also discussed having Flair manage The Shield against Evolution but Batista is leaving soon so there’s uncertainty with plans for Evolution.
Flair is said to be down to 230 pounds and has been training in the gym. Flair is under contract to WWE which is interesting since WWE has to approve everything he does outside of the company and there are negotiations going on for an overseas tour (outside of WWE) that would have Flair wrestling.
