Ric Flair has revealed that Dennis Rodman personally asked him to be his WWE Hall of Fame inductor, but the request apparently never made it through WWE’s process.
Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Flair recounted what happened after Rodman reached out to him ahead of the 2026 ceremony, where Rodman was inducted into the celebrity wing by Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman.
“Dennis Rodman called me and said, ‘Will you induct me into the Hall of Fame?’ I sent it to the powers that be, ‘Dennis wants me to induct him.’ I never got a call back. I’m very happy for Kevin and Sean. I never got a call back,” Flair said.
Flair’s absence from the ceremony took on additional context this week after he separately revealed he had been banned from attending WrestleMania 42 entirely due to a phone threat he made to Ludwig Kaiser roughly a year ago.
Rodman was inducted as part of the Class of 2026 celebrity wing. He made his WCW debut alongside Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach 1997 and was a regular presence on the nWo side of the Monday Night War during his time with the promotion. Nash, Waltman, and Rodman were all part of the nWo, making them natural choices to deliver the induction in Flair’s absence.
