There were questions after the Ric Flair spot on WWE Raw on whether he was meant to turn on his daughter Charlotte Flair or if something was botched. Flair reacted like he screwed up when he tripped his daughter.
For those of you that missed it, Charlotte and Asuka teamed up to take on Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce. Evans kept getting close to Ric in order to get into Charlotte’s mind. In the closing seconds of the match, Ric tripped his daughter and that cost her the match. It turns out that Ric was actually supposed to trip Peyton Royce but someone was not in position and the spot was botched.
Bryan Alvarez confirmed this on Wrestling Observer Live. Alvarez said, “I have just been alerted by the way for those of you that watched Raw, that in fact the story was supposed to be that Ric was trying to trip Peyton and it was supposed to be an accident.”
Ric later went on Twitter and apologized his daughter. Ric tweeted, “Sorry I Messed Up. It Won’t Be The First Time And Probably Won’t Be The Last. A Father And Daughter’s Bond Is Unbreakable. Thank You For Letting Me Come Visit! @MsCharlotteWWE @WWE #LegendsNight”
