Ric Flair: The Biggest Thing In Wrestling Will Be Charlotte Breaking The World Title Record

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently appeared on Busted Open Radio, offering insights into his current life and, more importantly, his daughter Charlotte Flair’s future in professional wrestling. Flair shared positive updates on his personal life, mentioning that he and Charlotte’s mother are now on speaking terms. He also jokingly noted that his daughter keeps him out of the loop because he has a tendency to share information.

However, the main focus of Flair’s conversation was Charlotte’s impending return to WWE. He expressed his strong belief that her comeback will be a monumental moment for the women’s division. Flair dismissed the idea that John Cena is focused on breaking the world championship record, stating, “John Cena doesn’t want to break a record. He doesn’t give a sh*t about that. He’s in a different world now. Wrestling will always be his passion but he doesn’t care [about breaking the record].”

Instead, Flair emphatically declared that Charlotte breaking the women’s title record would be a far bigger event: “I still think the biggest thing in the business when it happens…is her breaking the title record…”

Flair further elaborated on his belief in Charlotte’s dominance in the current wrestling landscape: “I just think it’s a woman’s world now and she’s the best woman wrestler alive and I think this time off, as unfortunate as it was because of the severity of the injury, I think she’s been able to sit back and realize just how damn good she is.” He is confident that her return will have a significant impact: “I guarantee you when she walks back in the door of whatever arena…it’s gonna be a gamechanger guys. I’ll bet $10,000 that the best match she wrestles if it’s a good opponent, will get the highest woman’s rating in a long time in a singles match.”

Both Bully Ray and Mark Henry agreed with Flair’s assessment. Flair went on to say that while Charlotte was capable of having “the best match in the world,” she previously had moments of self-doubt. Now, however, he feels she fully understands her own talent. Flair proudly proclaimed, “I’m honored to have her last name.”
