Following the news about his positive COVID-19 test, Universal Champion Roman Reigns posted the following statement on Twitter:
“I yearn to perform tonight at #WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship. However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon as possible.”
As previously noted, the positive test means that the Universal Title match is canceled and Brock Lesnar has been inserted into the WWE Championship match and it will now be a Fatal 5-Way.
Earlier, WrestlingNews.co reported that Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Title looks to be off the show as well.
