At the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin attacked Braun Strowman. At one point, they did a triple powerbomb through two stacked tables and the announcers mentioned that they were doing The Shield’s move.
I was told that Vince McMahon made sure that the announcers got across that it was The Shield’s powerbomb. The angle was done to get across the fact that Strowman did not have friends there to back him up. He will have to fight these guy off in the coming weeks and he will eventually have friends back him up.
This may be the reason why they decided to turn Dean Ambrose back into a face and there were several people backstage speculating that this could be the way to bring back Roman Reigns. For what it’s worth, his friends have said that his leukemia treatment has been going well.
