Roman Reigns vs. The Rock Match Is Still Possible For The Future

A potential Roman Reigns vs. The Rock match has been talked about and planned at several WrestleManias over the years by WWE.

They were going to do it last year at WrestleMania XL before the fans pushed for Cody Rhodes to finish his story of winning the Undisputed WWE Championship. On Monday’s Raw on Netflix premiere, Reigns went over Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat match.

After the match, Rock put the Ula Fala around Reigns’ neck and hugged him. This was after Rock did a babyface promo and seemingly dropped his Final Boss gimmick.

Following the show, Reigns discussed the possibility of the match. Reigns stated, “I don’t have to tease anything. You guys do it for us. We’re just gonna let the internet do its thing. That would defeat the whole purpose of this. The internet won’t do its thing if I say yes or no, so we’ll see.”

While WWE was planning to do Rock vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 this year, it’s not happening. As far as the future of The Rock wrestling goes, it remains the same. He decides whether he wants to do something and should he feel he is in ring shape, then its always a possibility.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “the idea of Rock vs. Reigns we have been told by several is not dead, and they still could go to that in the future, perhaps Mania but the idea of somewhere else, particularly with the crazy money some places are paying fighters, that could also be an option.”
