Last year we first reported on Howard Finkel being in bad health. We reached out to one of his friends and we weren’t told much aside from the fact that Finkel as lost a lot of weight.
A few months ago, Jerry Lawler said on his podcast that Finkel had suffered a stroke. He did not say much else but indicated that things have not gone well for him.
What I do know is that Finkel was not at the Raw 25th anniversary show in January 2018. Instead, they used a recording of his voice to introduce The Undertaker at the Manhattan Center. Finkel hasn’t been working at the Stamford offices and WWE has been keeping news about his health quiet.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that even Finkel’s friends don’t know what is going on but confirmed that he in poor health and his situation is being described as a “sad story.”
Finkel’s last tweet was last April when he commented on the passing of Bruno Sammartino.
On behalf of everyone here at WrestlingNews.co, we wish Finkel the best.
