Seth Rollins says WWE doesn’t need more MMA stars

The rumor mill has been seeing a lot of UFC stars pop up recently and there’s word some of them might be on their way. With Brock Lesnar also having that distinguishment it is obvious to see the UFC influence on the current product. Even wrestler’s worked styles resemble a more shoot characteristic and while some of that might be a tribute to the Japanese influence on modern wrestling, it’s hard to argue when someone pulls an MMA hold out of their back pocket.

There are rumors of Ronda Rousey and her Horsewomen headed to WWE for some kind of angle possibly at the Mae Young Classic finals so thoughts of WrestleMania can’t be far behind. The Artichect recently spoke to SkySports where he gave his opinion of the possible influx of MMA talent coming to WWE.

“I think we have maybe the most talented roster of all time,” Seth Rollins said. “I don’t think we need anybody to help or crossover. If they want to come over to our world and have some fun then that’s cool but we’re happy doing our thing on our own.”

That’s a very politically savvy response, to say the least. But he is correct in saying there hasn’t been a roster with more talent than the current incarnation Vince and Triple H have been able to come up with. They have been able to really utilize the tool they have in NXT to put out talent trained to wrestle like WWE Superstars.

MMA will always have its place in society and hopefully, the two can coexist in the same marketplace because they’re both essentially catering to the same demographic of people. WWE might not need the boost of an established MMA fighter, but it would be hard to argue that a partnership between the two companies in any respect would be super fun for the fans.
