Several Stars Moved To Free Agent Section On WWE Website

WWE has moved AJ Lee, Paige, Nikki Bella, and Brie Bella to the free agents section of their official website, reflecting the current status of four of the more high-profile women’s performers to have returned to the company in recent years. The four now join Danhausen, Oba Femi, and Omos in the free agents section of the WWE roster page.

Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 after nearly a decade away from the company, teaming with her husband CM Punk in a program against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch before entering a standalone feud with Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. She defeated Lynch to win the title at Elimination Chamber before losing it back to Lynch at WrestleMania 42 night one.

Following the match, Lee posted a message thanking the WWE women’s locker room and fans while indicating she would be back soon. WrestleVotes previously reported that Lee’s creative was effectively done for now, with hope internally that she could return for a major event like SummerSlam.

Nikki Bella made her comeback to WWE last year, while Brie officially signed a new deal with the company earlier this year. Nikki suffered a fractured and sprained ankle on the March 27 edition of SmackDown, ruling her out of the fatal four-way Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42. Paige stepped in as her replacement and teamed with Brie to win the titles in what was Paige’s first WWE match since 2017. Nikki has since been targeting a June return and has set her sights on Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship.

Paige’s WrestleMania 42 appearance marked her return to in-ring competition after the neck injury that forced her into early retirement. She had previously been medically cleared and competed for the first time at AEW Full Gear 2023 while performing as Saraya.
