Shane McMahon Dismisses Rumors Of Starting New Wrestling Company With Vince, Confirms AEW Meeting

Shane McMahon has addressed recent rumors about his and his father Vince McMahon’s future in the wrestling business, stating directly that rumors of them starting their own wrestling company are false. He also confirmed that he has had a meeting with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

In a brief interview with TMZ, Shane was asked about speculation that he and Vince McMahon might start a new promotion together. Shane responded, “You never know what’s gonna happen out there, of course, and it can happen in WWE, but those rumors are false.”

When asked if there was any chance he would join AEW, Shane revealed he has had discussions with the company. “Had a meeting with AEW and wish them continued success,” he stated. He then added, “But it’s not WWE, it’s not the company I helped build. But you never know what’s gonna happen in this business.”

Regarding other speculation that his father, Vince, might try to buy back into WWE, Shane commented on his father’s remaining TKO holdings: “Well, he’s a big part of TKO still, so we never know what’s gonna happen there, either. So I’m not trying to be vague. I’m just saying anything can happen.”

Shane also provided a brief update on his father’s well-being since Vince resigned from TKO and WWE in January 2024. “He’s been doing really well. He’s enjoying life….but if you know my dad, he’s always gung ho, and he’s always doing the next thing, and that’s what he’s focused on.”
