Stephanie McMahon and Shawn Michaels shared a piece of family history on the latest episode of What’s Your Story with Stephanie McMahon. Michaels’ daughter Cheyenne was conceived during the festivities of Stephanie’s 2003 wedding to Triple H.
The exchange came as Michaels was talking about his daughter’s involvement in his recent Peacock documentary. Michaels referred to her by her family nickname, Shug, when Stephanie cut in.
“Cheyenne, you call her Shug, but nobody,” Michaels said.
“Was conceived at my wedding, just saying,” Stephanie said. “My daughter told me that that’s a gross thing to say. And I’m like, why?”
Michaels confirmed the story.
“Well, our kids, they know it all, and yeah, grosses them out too. But yes, she was. First time in a long time, Rebecca and I got to get away,” Michaels said.
Stephanie noted that the couple made the most of the wedding weekend.
“You made the most of it,” Stephanie said.
“Another wonderful surprise,” Michaels said.
Michaels and Rebecca Hickenbottom had previously had their son Cameron in 2000. Michaels said the couple has generally not planned major life events.
“We’ve never really planned anything. We’ve gone where we feel like the good Lord leads us and what doors open for us, we go ahead and roll through,” Michaels said.
Michaels described how Cameron had been conceived shortly after he and Rebecca married in 1999, with Rebecca realizing she was pregnant within days of the wedding.
“I leave and go to work. The next day, I come back and I say, I want to try some of that almond butter. And she’s like, where is it? She goes, I ate it all. Okay. It’s all right. Can I get some of the pecan butter? I ate all that too. I’ve been cleaning all day. She said, I think I’m nesting,” Michaels said.
Stephanie McMahon and Paul “Triple H” Levesque married on October 25, 2003. Cheyenne Michelle Hickenbottom was born August 26, 2004 to Shawn and Rebecca Hickenbottom. Stephanie and Levesque have three daughters together: Aurora Rose (born July 24, 2006), Murphy Claire (born July 28, 2008), and Vaughn Evelyn (born August 24, 2010). Cameron Kade Hickenbottom, the elder of Shawn and Rebecca’s two children, was born January 5, 2000. Cameron is currently attending Stanford University. Cheyenne is featured in the new Peacock documentary The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels, which premiered on Peacock on April 13, 2026.
