Shawn Spears came out to his old Perfect 10 entrance theme at Thursday’s NXT live event in Kitchener, Ontario, and told the crowd afterward that it could be his last time performing in Canada.
Spears, who is from St. Catharines, Ontario, teamed with Shiloh Hill, Tavion Heights and Tony D’Angelo to beat BirthRight (Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors and Stacks Lorenzo) in the last match of the night at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Spears was a surprise addition to the team, and D’Angelo pinned Stacks Lorenzo for the win.

After the match, Spears spoke about his 25 years in wrestling and said this could be his last time performing in Canada. If it was, he said, he couldn’t have picked a better place to do it. He did not say whether he plans to retire.
The Perfect 10 character started on the August 12, 2015 episode of NXT, when Spears wrestled as Tye Dillinger. He kept the name until WWE released him in February 2019, then wrestled for AEW as Shawn Spears from 2019 to 2023. He returned to NXT on February 27, 2024, and has kept the Shawn Spears name, which he explained in a 2024 interview.
Spears won the NXT North American Championship on the March 4, 2025 episode of NXT. He later led The Culling with Niko Vance and Izzi Dame until Vance and Dame turned on him on the June 23, 2026 episode of NXT, and he has been feuding with them since, including a mixed tag match with Lizzy Rain against Vance and Dame in August.
He co-owns the Flatbacks Wrestling school in Apopka, Florida, with Tyler Breeze.
