Shelton Benjamin-WWE return update

Shelton Benjamin is expected to return to WWE once he heals up from his recent shoulder surgery. Benjamin was supposed to return as part of Smackdown Live last month but everything was put on hold when he underwent the standard WWE physical and learned that he had a torn rotator cuff. They also discovered several other minor tears so WWE’s physical was actually a blessing in disguise. Apparently, the injury occurred 2 1/2 months prior while wrestling for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan but he continued wrestling.

WWE wants him back and his recovery time is expected to be around 6 months so he should be ready to return in February or March. They usually have WrestleMania plans mapped out around that time so the company could decide to hold off his return until after Mania.

The idea for the returning stars was to bring them in so that they can help put over younger talent. Benjamin can still go so hopefully there are bigger plans for him.

As you can see in the clip below, Benjamin’s doctor expects him to make a full recovery.
