Simone Johnson, daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has signed with WWE and she is reporting to the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida this week.
The 18-year-old has done training off-and-on at the PC for at least a year but this announcement today confirms that she is now under a developmental deal. There is no word yet on when she will make her NXT debut.
“It means the world to me,” Johnson said in a press release sent by WWE. “To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy.”
Triple H added, “Simone Johnson’s unbridled passion and incredible drive has earned her a coveted spot training with the elite athletes from around the world at the WWE Performance Center.”
WWE is touting Simone as the first fourth-generation Superstar in company history. On Wednesday, WWE will post an interview conducted by Cathy Kelley with Simone about her decision to get into professional wrestling.
