Last night on Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens attempted to avenge his squash match loss to Braun Strowman at SummerSlam.
He accepted an open challenge from Seth Rollins with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Rollins and Owens absolutely tore the house down. Owens had his native Canadian crowd on his side, but wasn't able to get the job done. After missing on a moonsault, Rollins capitalized and hit Owens with the Skull Crushing Finale.
After the match, Raw cut to commercial, but when they returned Owens was still in the ring. He was sitting on a steel chair with a microphone in his hand. After several moments of pause, Owens said "I quit" and left the arena. It appears as though, in the storyline, "KO" has quit WWE.
WWE is taking things to the next level, as they have moved Owens to the alumni section of their WWE website. Perhaps they'll keep Owens off WWE TV for some time to keep things realistic. Owens has also blacked out his Twitter page, deleting all posts except two with pictures of his past big moments with WWE:
