AJ Styles Wants To See LA Knight Become WWE World Champion

AJ Styles is firmly in LA Knight’s corner when it comes to the WWE World Championship. Speaking on his P1 Podcast, the recently retired WWE Hall of Famer made it clear he believes Knight deserves to reach the top of the mountain.

“I do hope he gets to be World Champion. I really think he’s earned it,” Styles said. “His mic work is pretty freaking awesome. He’s a guy that can hold a Heavyweight Championship, no problem, and he’s got the mouth to back it up. I’d like to see it happen.”

Styles and Knight were at the center of a bitter, personal rivalry in late 2023 and early 2024 that began when Styles felt Knight had taken his spot in a title program with Roman Reigns. The feud escalated into a storyline home invasion and even spilled into reality during WrestleMania 40 media week, when the two had a physical altercation at a press event to further their feud.

It ended in a grudge match at WrestleMania 40, where Knight defeated Styles, before Styles evened the score in a championship eliminator rematch.  Knight, a two-time WWE United States Champion, has yet to capture a World Championship in WWE despite coming close on several occasions.

One of the most popular acts on the roster, he has repeatedly found himself in the title hunt only to fall just short.
