WWE has yet to comment on the reports suggesting that there is concernĀ in the company that The Revival could be leaving to join All Elite Wrestling. Again, we don’t know how long they have left on their contract and there is no confirmation that they’ve asked for their release but there have been signs on social media indicating that they plan on working with The Young Bucks at some point after their time with WWE.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez responded to a question from a reader on the subject. Alvarez was asked if Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder asked to be released from their contract.
Here is what he said: “The only thing I can tell you about The Revival right now is I don’t know if they asked for a release from WWE but I do know that they have been asking about doing more matches down at NXT. I don’t know if that would mean going full-time back in NXT. Obviously, there’s a lot of great tag teams in NXT. People love working house shows and they love working NXT shows. There are a lot of people that had more fun in NXT.”
Alvarez continued: “It could have been that they asked to do more NXT shows and they didn’t ask for a full release or maybe they did ask for a full release. Maybe they’ll get it, maybe they won’t. I don’t know. We’ll try to find out more info but that’s all I can tell you right now.”
Earlier today we reached out to WWE for a comment on this story. We will post their response if they send one.
