Have you ever taken a job interview just for fun with no intention of leaving your current employer? Nick and Matt Jackson certainly have and their story about trying out for WWE is pretty epic.
When The Young Bucks received their WWE tryout they were apparently told it was just so William Regal and other WWE top brass could see the brothers work. During an interview with RF Vide, the current IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champions said they already had a deal with ROH in place and told them a WWE tryout was just to drum up publicity.
They had left TNA and planned on going to ROH but wanted to make it look like they picked ROH over Vince McMahon and Company which was a pretty genius idea actually.
But when The Young Bucks showed up for their tryout, apparently they did their own thing as always. They not only showed up in casual attire when the normal dress is business at a tryout like that, but they also didn’t hold anything back when working a match against two guys they had just encountered at PWG in Joey Ryan and Scorpio Sky.
The Young Bucks sounded like they had a ton of fun during their WWE tryout but it was probably because they had the security of knowing they had a deal with ROH already. However, they did note if a big money deal was offered to them at the time it might have changed their minds.
But as history has told so far, neither Nick or Matt Jackson have ventured to WWE yet for a full-time gig and at this rate do they really need to?
