There is apparently some heat on Sami Zayn, according to the Wrestling Observer newsletter. That was why they booked him to come off as a loser on this past Monday’s Raw in the backstage segment with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The segment was specifically written to get him under, not over.
Dave Meltzer did not go into detail on why he has heat but it could be because of the tweet he sent out over the weekend. For those of you that missed it, the official account for the WWE United Kingdom Championship posted a clip of HC Dyer doing his version of the Blue Thunder Bomb from the first day of the tournament. Zayn apparently wasn’t thrilled with it and referenced it (see below) on his twitter account:

It’s worth nothing that other people have used that move before Zayn, most notably Jun Akiyama. Akiyama is the person that invented the move and Tyson Kidd brought that up. There was another tweet from Kidd replying to a fan on twitter that said that Zayn’s comments may have been taken the wrong way. In a now-deleted tweet, Kidd said that texts he received (presumably from Zayn) would say otherwise. The UK tournament was run by Triple H so it’s probably not the wisest move to publicly call out one of the wrestlers involved.
You created the blue thunder bomb?? Does Jun Akiyama know this?? https://t.co/7XtlVkw5HY
