In the semi-main event of NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool, Rhea Ripley put her NXT UK Women’s Championship on the line against Toni Storm. The story going into this match is that Ripley is on a rampage and Storm was not able to beat her during the NXT UK Women’s Title tournament that was held several months ago.
This was a great back-and-forth match and one of the best women’s matches on WWE programming in a long time. Late in the match, Storm was able to execute her “Storm Zero” finisher but Ripley was able to kick out of the pin attempt. Ripley tried for the Rip Tide but Storm reversed and hit a second “Storm Zero.” New Champion!
Very good match.
