Per WWE storylines, John Cena’s path to WrestleMania is still not set in stone but he has a championship opportunity in a couple of weeks. If he fails to win the WWE Championship at Fastlane then that means that he won’t have a match at Mania. However, NXT’s newest Superstar has a solution that can get Cena involved for WrestleMania weekend.
EC3 has offered to fight Cena at NXT Takeover: New Orleans. EC3 took the opportunity to lay down the challenge on Twitter during Smackdown Live, “If you don’t find a road to #Wrestlemania @JohnCena, you can fight me on #NXTTakeover New Orleans. #SDLive.”
At one time I would have said that EC3 was just joking and there’s no chance we’d see Cena on a Takeover show but nothing surprises me with NXT so I won’t rule out that there’s a chance that we could see Cena wrestle at Takeover. Judging by the reaction on social media, the majority of fans want to see the match.
