Although Daniel Bryan isn’t currently featured in the main event scene on WWE television right now doesn’t mean that he is not still considered a top draw in the company.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Edge has a significant creative influence on Raw meanwhile Daniel Bryan has the same influence on Friday Night SmackDown.
Meltzer wrote, “the term I was given is they were part of the writing teams of the respective shows right now.”
Bryan hasn’t worked a match since the June 12th episode of SmackDown when he lost to AJ Styles in the tournament finals to crown a new Intercontinental Champion. The tournament was created when Sami Zayn vacated the championship after he decided to not work WWE TV tapings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before the tournament, Bryan had been feuding with Zayn.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on what WWE has planned for Bryan at next month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
It should be noted that Bryan and his wife, Brie Bella, are expecting their second child to be born later this month.
