In a Twitter post earlier today, Cain Velasquez noted that he ran into Ronda Rousey at WWE Headquarters.
Velasquez has been dealing with a knee injury so that is why he hasn’t seen much action since signing a multi-year deal with the company in the fall.
Rousey hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since last April because she has wanted to start a family with husband Travis Browne. There hasn’t been any recent talk about Rousey appearing this year at WrestleMania 36 but WWE would like to have her on next year’s show in Los Angeles and would welcome her with open arms if she feels ready to step in the ring much sooner than that. Rousey’s current deal expires next April.
Since WWE has been in talks with ESPN+ about moving their pay-per-views to their streaming platform, it would make sense for them to get Velasquez and Rousey back on TV as soon as possible.
