Two WrestleMania 34 matches that were scrapped due to injury

Author Jon Robinson recently did an interview with The Wrestling Estate to talk about his book, Creating The Mania: An Inside Look at how WrestleMania Comes to Life. The book takes a behind-the-scenes look at creating WrestleMania 34. The book includes interviews about how storylines are developed, and much more.

During his interview, Robinson revealed two matches that were initially planned for the pay-per-view. Seth Rollins was booked to face Dean Ambrose, and Jason Jordan was supposed to face his storyline father Kurt Angle. Here’s what Robinson had to say:

“There were a lot of matches in play that could have completely changed the card. And then you hear from creative about injuries affecting things like Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose, and then Ambrose got injured.

“They were also trying to do Kurt Angle vs. Jason Jordan, but then Jordan got injured.”

Rollins ended up defeating The Miz and Finn Balor in a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship. Ambrose suffered an injury and missed out on WrestleMania. Due to Jason Jordan’s injury, he also missed out on the New Orleans show, and Kurt Angle teamed up with Ronda Rousey to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
