The Undertaker has paid tribute to Bray Wyatt, calling him one of the rare performers who possessed a truly otherworldly character and suggesting that his best work was still ahead of him at the time of his passing.
Speaking on Nightcap, The Undertaker was asked about wrestlers who reminded him of his own character and the kind of dark, supernatural aura he spent decades cultivating in WWE. Wyatt was the name that came to mind.
“No. Not really. Bray Wyatt was coming along before his unfortunate demise. He had that aura, that otherworldly type character. Obviously, it’s a shame what happened with Bray because I think he had only begun to scratch the surface of how great he was gonna be,” The Undertaker said.
The praise carries significant weight coming from someone who spent three decades as the gold standard for that particular archetype in WWE. Wyatt passed away in August 2023 at the age of 36 while still an active member of the WWE roster.
One of his final WWE appearances came on a January 2023 episode of Raw, where he and The Undertaker teamed up to take down LA Knight, a moment that represented a passing of the torch between them.
