This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with the United States Championship match between Apollo Crews and MVP. This match was supposed to take place at The Horror Show at WWE Extreme Rules but it was delayed because Crews tested positive for COVID-19.
Despite interference from Bobby Lashley, Crews pinned MVP to retain his title. Crews gave a backstage promo after the match.
Back in the arena, MVP complained about the lights flickering during the match and “unsafe working conditions.” He went on to say that he wants a rematch for the title and he wants it at SummerSlam.
So far, the matches announced for SummerSlam are:
Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship and MVP vs. Apollo Crew for the United States Championship.
SummerSlam will take place on Sunday, August 23rd on the WWE Network.
