If there are any plans for Hulk Hogan to appear tonight on Monday Night Raw, it would have to be via satellite or in a pre-taped segment because Hogan has already flown back home to Tampa.
WWE’s position on Hogan is to take thing slow because they are well aware that a large part of their fanbase is not too thrilled with him being back. However, when Hogan apologized to the locker room last night, he got a good reaction and many of the Superstars hugged him and shook his hand.
Hogan has yet to sign a contract but the belief is that a deal will be reached eventually where he will resume his duties as an ambassador with some special appearances on WWE television. At this point, we are told, that there are no plans for him to wrestle. In fact, although he would like one more WrestleMania match, it’s unlikely that Vince McMahon would approve a match for the 64-year-old Hogan due to liability issues. It’s the same reason why Jerry Lawler hasn’t been considered for a match in years. WWE has pulled back on using older retired wrestlers for physical angles since the time when Ricky Steamboat was injured during an angle with the Nexus faction.
As previously noted, WWE uploaded a Superstars For Hope video featuring Hogan but the YouTube comments under the video have been disabled. It will take quite a bit of work to get fans to accept that Hogan is back in the fold and WWE realizes that.
