Update on WWE’s major announcement, what the wrestlers were told

As we noted on Saturday, a big announcement is expected on Monday night Raw.

As most of you know, the announcement is expected to be about NXT moving to the USA Network. This is an even bigger deal than if they would have moved to Fox Sports 1 because USA is available in more homes.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Triple H gave a heads up to the NXT roster but he did not give out too many details because he wanted to avoid having those details leak out.

Basically, Triple H said that everyone should watch Monday Night Raw for a big announcement.

It’s expected that NXT on the USA Network will air from 8-10 pm eastern on Wednesday nights as counterprogramming to AEW. The rumor is that NXT could start as soon as next month so they can get a jump on the debut AEW show on TNT.

With NXT on the USA Network, that leaves some unanswered questions on Vince McMahon’s involvement. Right now, McMahon does not have his hands on the show but that could change. In fact, it’s very likely that he will get involved with the show if they have trouble beating AEW in the ratings.

As of now, the plan is to continue taping the show at Full Sail University. It’s unknown if they will go live every week or every other week. Presumably, more details will get out in the next 24 hours.
