This weekend will be a very interesting one for the professional wrestling world.
WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will defend his title against Roman Reigns. The bout will go down this Sunday, August 19th, from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York at SummerSlam. It’s also being speculated that the winner of Kevin Owens and Braun Strowman’s match earlier in the night, in which Strowman’s Money In The Bank briefcase will be on the line, could have an impact on Lesnar vs. Reigns.
The winner could cash-in the briefcase and steal Lesnar or Reigns’ moment in a very Seth Rollins-esk affair. Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen. Kevin Owens, however, certainly seems to be adding fuel to that fire. He cut a promo at WWE’s live event from Roanoke, Virginia and said that in one week we’ll have a Universal Champion we can be proud of. He didn’t specify who he was talking about, but he’s likely referencing himself.
