WATCH: Nikolai Volkoff was a fan of Rusev and Lana, talked about how much wrestling has changed

In what was probably his final interview before his passing late last month, WWE Hall Of Famer Nikolai Volkoff spoke to Go Pro Wrestling back in May about a variety of topics. Volkoff praised WWE’s Rusev and Lana and called them great people. Volkoff has worked with the pair before, as he did a backstage segment with them in a 2014 episode of Monday Night Raw:

“Rusev and Lana, they’re good people,” Volkoff said. “Rusev is a good athlete and Lana is a beautiful lady. They’re a good couple and I wish them all the best, they’re very beautiful people. They even speak Russian.”

Volkoff then talked about how the landscape of professional wrestling has dramatically changed since his heyday. He noted that the change is necessary and credits Vince McMahon for being smart enough to evolve with people as they change over the years:

“Everything’s changed, nothing’s stayed the same. Wrestling had to change the way people change because if you don’t change with the people then you’re missing something. Vince McMahon is a very intelligent man and he knows what to do that’s why he’s doing so good.”
