Trent Wilfinger announced on Twitter that he has joined WWE as SVP of Talent ID & Development and will work with James Kimball “under the leadership of Triple H” to bring to life a “game changing vision and strategy” to WWE NXT.
Wilfinger previously worked at Paul Borg Construction Company and as the Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Sport division at Exos, a personalized performance training institute, that reportedly generates $100-$500 million annual revenue.
Prior to that, he worked in executive positions for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Coyotes.
As previously noted, Vince McMahon is making big changes to the NXT brand. The talk behind the scenes is that there are plans for a new logo, new lighting and a new presentation. McMahon also wants to revert back to the days when NXT was a true developmental system with the idea being to create stars that can someday headline WrestleMania. Wilfinger is taking the role that Canyon Ceman had.
