Dean Ambrose defended the WWE Title against top contender AJ Styles in the main event of tonight’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view event at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia, which aired on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets.
They had a fantastic match. They started about 10 minutes after 10pm eastern and they were given a ton of time since it was a thin card. The referee was taken out for a few seconds and that allowed Styles to hit a low blow and the Styles Clash. Styles pinned Ambrose to become the new WWE World Champion. The show ended early at 10:39pm eastern.
