WWE Clash Of Champions main event announced

UPDATE: At the end of Raw, Mick Foley announced that Roman Reigns will face Kevin Owens on next week’s Monday Night Raw. If Reigns can defeat Owens then the match will become a Triple Threat Match with Reigns added. Reigns speared Chris Jericho to end the show as Owens walked back up the rampway.

ORIGINAL: On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Kevin Owens would defend the WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins at Clash Of Champions. The match was announced during the opening segment when Rollins came down to the ring to confront Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon. The storyline is that Stephanie was not part of screwing Rollins out of the title last week.

The match was actually revealed in local advertisements over the weekend but was not officially announced on WWE TV until Raw. The original plan was for Ownes to challenge Finn Balor at the Clash show.

WWE Clash Of Champions is the first Raw-branded pay-per-view and will take place on Sunday, September 25 at Indianapolis’ Bankers Life Fieldhouse Arena.
