For those of you that missed this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, there was a Rap Battle segment between The Usos and The New Day. Both teams took some personal (non-PG) shots at each other but apparently, some of the things said were not approved by WWE because there was a reference to the sex tape that involved Paige and Xavier Woods and it was edited out of the version of the segment that went up on WWE’s YouTube account. The following line was cut out: “Let’s just keep it PG, you know what’s good. Don’t get all Rated-R like ya boy Xavier Woods.”
The unedited line can be heard below and scroll down for WWE’s YouTube version:
As seen below, the Paige-Xavier sex tape reference was edited from WWE’s official YouTube account:
This is the second week in a row that a segment with The Usos and The New Day has caused controversy. Booker T took issue with last week’s promo from The New Day that referenced his infamous blooper from Spring Stampede 1997 where he accidentally used the N-word during a backstage promo. Booker was not sure if the line was approved by WWE but said that it might have been something that New Day came up with because they are given more freedom with their promos. Regardless, he was not happy about what was said. You can read and listen to what Booker said about the promo by clicking here.
