John Cena defended the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber against AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, The Miz, and Baron Corbin. Each Superstar (except the first two starting the match) were locked into a pod and a new Superstar entered the match every 5 minutes. Styles and Cena started the match.
Bray Wyatt captured the WWE Championship at tonight’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view after Bray Wyatt pinned AJ Styles. The last three men in the match were Wyatt, Cena, and Styles. Wyatt hit sister Abigail on Cena to get a clean pin on him and then he hit sister Abigail on Styles. It was reported several weeks ago in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Bray Wyatt was going to get a title run. So far, as is the case most of the time, Dave Meltzer’s sources were correct. The championship match for the Smackdown brand is now set for WrestleMania. Randy Orton will be challenging Bray Wyatt for the title on 4/2 in Orlando. Orton stood on the entrance ramp and watched Wyatt as the show ended.
Order of entry:Â 1. AJ Styles, 2. John Cena, 3. Dean Ambrose, 4. Bray Wyatt, 5. Baron Corbin, 6. The Miz
Order of elimination:Â 1. Dean Ambrose pinned Corbin, 2. The Miz pinned Ambrose, 3. John Cena pinned The Miz, 4. Bray Wyatt pinned Cena, 5. Bray Wyatt pinned Styles.
