WWE Extreme Rules: Brock Lesnar cashes in on Seth Rollins to become Universal Champion

This year’s WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view was headlined by the Winner Take All match pitting Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Universal Champion Seth Rollins against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. The story WWE told during the hype for this match was what would happen to Rollins and Lynch’s relationship if one of them costs their partner the title because Lynch could get pinned and that would mean Rollins would also lose his title. Lynch could also lose her title if Rollins gets pinned. The other stipulation was that Corbin and Evans would not get any more title opportunities if they lost the match. Michael Cole noted that the men and women cannot wrestle each other even though it’s an Extreme Rules match.

They used weapons in this match including kendo sticks, chairs, tables, etc. At one point, with Lynch taken out of the match, both Evans and Corbin used kendo sticks on Rollins. Late in the match, Lynch did a leg drop on Evans through a table and Rollins did a splash off the top of the ring post on Corbin through a table.

Later on, Corbin hit End of Days on Lynch to the shock of fans in attendance. Rollins nailed Corbin with repeated kendo stick and chair shots out of anger. Rollins stomped Corbin and then stomped him a second and third time. Rollins pinned him to retain the titles.

Brock Lesnar’s music played and he appeared. Lesnar nailed Rollins with 2 German suplexes and then he cashed in. He hit the F5 and pinned Rollins to win the Universal Title.
