It turns out that some members of the NXT roster were offered new deals for bigger money after WWE reached a deal with the USA Network for the rights to NXT programming.
WWE moved NXT from the WWE Network to the USA Network last October in order to compete with AEW Dynamite on TNT.
Fightful reports that several NXT talent got significant raises once the money that WWE received from USA kicked in. Although it’s not money that talent on Raw or SmackDown makes, it was “substantial” for those that ended up signing the new deal compared to their previous contract.
With the pay raises, it came along with new three-year agreements as a result. It should be noted that not all of the talent offered signed the new deals.
This comes after news surfaced of one NXT star talking out of the company over a disagreement. For more on that, click here.
Last week, WWE noted in its 2019 fourth quarter earnings report that they made $139.3 million this year and $72.2 million last year in “core content rights fees.” However, WWE didn’t disclose how much they were making from USA Network on the NXT deal.
