WWE has discussed NXT running house shows again

WWE hasn’t held an NXT house show in Florida since last March, but that could be changing soon. Last June, NXT talent were told that they would start running house shows in Florida in July 2021, which was around the time that WWE resumed live event touring for the main roster after holding empty arena shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, that didn’t happen and WWE has just been running NXT TV events at the Performance Center. Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that there is talk of resuming NXT house shows in Florida.

“I guess the idea is just they are… there is talk of them doing house shows again. That’s the talk right now, yeah. If they just go Florida in these 200-seat buildings then they only have to sell 200 tickets. They can sell 100 tickets if that’s the case, and they probably could do that.”

Meltzer added that he doesn’t know if WWE will tour with NXT outside of Florida like they had been doing before the pandemic.

“I just know…the plan is…of course, the plan has been since July of last year to do it, but I heard today it’s been talked about more as of late. They have to do it, they have to get this guy’s matches.”
