WWE Hasn’t Settled on What a Top SummerSlam Match Stipulation Means Yet

The WWE SummerSlam card is nearly complete, as the event is just over 24 hours away from happening from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor, and Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes are the top matches set for the show.

Shayna Baszler vs. Ronda Rousey in an MMA Rules Match is also part of the card, which comes at a time when Rousey is expected to go on hiatus soon.

WWE has yet to announce what this match will look like and the rules that go along with it. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer guessed it means “ knockout or submission finish and no pins.”

However, because that hasn’t been specified, it’s unclear. Meltzer added, “We do know the reason nothing was announced is because they hadn’t settled on exactly what MMA rules means.”
