WWE is developing a new concept called “WWE Speed”

Prior to tonight’s WWE SmackDown live broadcast, the company introduced a new concept called “WWE Speed.”

Basically, it’s 5-minute matches. During the first “WWE Speed” match, Bronson Reed defeated NXT’s Nathan Frazier and Cedric Alexander defeated Axiom. On commentary were Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick so it appears that these matches will air somewhere, perhaps on WWE’s social media channels. 

As seen in the video below, there was a “WWE Speed” graphic and a countdown timer for each match. Wrestlers from all brands were featured on the LED boards around the ring.
